We are seeking two (2) interns in each of the following departments to work at our NGO’s head office in Nairobi.
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or Information Technology (IT)
Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and networks.

Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including desktops, printers and servers.
-
Provide technical support to users, including troubleshooting and resolving IT related problems.
-
Ensure security of IT systems, including data backup, antivirus protection and access controls.
-
Manage and monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN.
-
Implement and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance and security.
-
Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
-
Collaborate with other departments to understand IT needs and requirements.
-
Plan and execute IT projects, including upgrades, migrations and installations.
-
Document IT systems, configurations, and procedures for knowledge sharing and training.
Requirements and Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
-
Familiarity with operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, and macOS.
-
Knowledge of network protocols, security principles, and best practices.
-
Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
-
Attention to detail and accuracy at work.
Procurement
Responsibilities:
-
Finding reputable and reliable suppliers who can provide the goods and services the Organization needs.
-
Evaluating suppliers based on factors like quality, price, reliability, and compliance with the Organization and donor policies.
-
Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers for better deals and smoother operations.
-
Negotiating terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers to secure the best possible value for QEA.
-
Drafting and reviewing contracts to ensure compliance with legal and QEA’s policies, as well as any donor requirements.
-
Monitoring contract performance to ensure suppliers’ performance meet contractual obligations.
-
Monitoring procurement expenses and identifying opportunities for cost saving and efficiency improvement.
-
Maintaining accurate records of all procurement activities for audit purposes and reporting.
-
Preparing reports on procurement activities, including spending, supplier performance, and compliance.
-
Supporting field procurement officers.
-
Liaising with other departments.
-
Keeping up-to-date on market trends, industry developments and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in procurement, or related field.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
