‘Live From Somewhere’ is a captivating concert film series that celebrates and elevates the talent of local musicians in Spokane, Washington.
This innovative venture showcases performances in unique and unconventional venues—ranging from historic landmarks to eclectic art museums—ensuring that artists can participate without incurring any costs. Since its inception during the pandemic in 2020, the series has successfully highlighted over 30 talented musicians, showcasing the rich diversity of Spokane’s musical landscape while seamlessly blending high-quality cinematic production with the intimacy of live music.
As we look forward to 2025, the ‘Live From Somewhere’ team is eager to expand its creative scope. They plan to explore new, inspiring locations for filming, host premiere events at the iconic Garland Theater, and diversify their offerings with live concerts at prestigious venues such as the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture.
This ambitious vision is supported by a dedicated crew, which includes skilled camera operators, talented photographers, and experienced audio engineers. Together, they create stunning visual and auditory media that local musicians can utilize in their press kits, promotional materials, and social media platforms, enhancing their visibility and outreach. The series has begun to attract out-of-town artists, establishing partnerships with local venues to bring these performers to Spokane.
This initiative not only enriches the city’s cultural landscape but also fosters a sense of community and collaboration among artists. Funding from the SAGA grant will be crucial in supporting production costs, including venue rentals, crew compensation, media storage, and essential gear upgrades.
This financial backing will ensure that the team can continue producing unique and memorable musical experiences. With an unwavering focus on adaptability and innovation, ‘Live From Somewhere’ remains devoted to amplifying local talent and connecting Spokane’s music scene to broader audiences. Through high-quality, immersive storytelling, the series aims to capture the essence of each performance, allowing the heart and soul of Spokane’s musicians to resonate far beyond the city limits.
